Introduction to Alternative therapies and therapists.

We will aim to discussing the manner in which they are regulated and affiliated to guilds, councils and other bodies like organisations or federations telling people there were abouts, there aims and policies.

There are many different therapies that are listed in reference to Holistic medicine, some covered by insurance and some not so known. The list of bodies below are some of the many that you can obtain information on the internet about.

Alternative medicine is the practice of any therapy that is put forward as having the healing effect of medicine, yet some may say is not founded on evidence gathered using the scientific methods this statement many would denounce as heresy, as science and nature is one of the same genesis. Consisting of a wide range of health care practices, products and therapies. Examples include new and traditional medicine practices such as homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, energy medicine, various forms of acupuncturetraditional Chinese medicineAyurvedic medicine, and Christian faith healing. Treatments are those that are not part of the westernised and the conventional western belief system, science-based it is, yet not to the  healthcare system of the western part of the world, and are not backed by western science. Even if the tools of the east have been used for millenniums, the west is still sceptical as there does not seem to be much way of gaining much profit from just healing with energy and phytology, far to natural for us, or clean cut and simple.

Complementary medicine is alternative medicine used together with conventional medical treatment in a belief, not proven by western medicine applying scientific methods, that it is  assistance  to the treatment. CAM is the abbreviation for complementary and alternative medicine.

Integrative medicine (or integrative health) is the combination of the practices and methods of alternative medicine with conventional medicine.

Alternative medical diagnoses and treatments are usually not included in the degree qualifications of medical establishments, or used in western conventional medicine, where treatments are based on what is proven using the western scientific method. Alternative therapies have not been given much jurisdiction and  lack such scientific validation by the west, and their effectiveness is either rejected and spurned. Alternative medicine is usually based on, what the west would have us believe is religion,   tradition, superstition, belief in supernatural energies, pseudoscienceerrors in reasoning, propaganda, or fraud. When in actual fact is that all medicine is based on the foundations of natural medicine, even the man they call the father of western medicine 'Hippocrates'  from Kos actually founded all medicine on plants and nature. and to this day allopathic  doctors still say the Hippocratic Oath, as guidance and regulation for guidance ethical practice to this day. The licensing of alternative medicine and health care providers does vary from country to country.

Some scientific communities have criticised alternative medicine as being based on misleading statements. This is there credo as everyone has free will and aloud to have there own ethos, yet as a trained therapist I would like to stand by what I have been taught by good doctors and practitioners, we can all make our own choices. Please see everything on it's own merit, with an unbiased view.
