Shiva: Om Namah Shivaya
This mantra has no approximate translation. The sounds related directly to the principles which govern each of the first six chakras on the spine...Earth, water, fire, air, ether. Notice that this does not refer to the chakras themselves which have a different set of seed sounds, but rather the principles which govern those chakras in their place. A very rough, non-literal translation could be something like, 'Om and salutations to that which I am capable of becoming.' This mantra will start one out on the path of subtle development of spiritual attainments. It is the beginning on the path of Siddha Yoga, or the Yoga of Perfection of the Divine Vehicle.

Buddhist Mantras - Japa meditation
Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih
Om mantra (or pranava mantra, which literally means “that which is sounded out loudly”) it is a Sanskrit sound that represents the divine energy, the vibration of the Supreme, unparalleled and the reflection of an absolute and unconditional reality.
The teachings explain that the six syllables of the mantra – OM MANI PADME HUM – has a specific and potent effect in bringing about the transformation at different levels of our being. The six syllables purify completely the six poisonous negative emotions, which are the manifestation of ignorance, and which cause us to act negatively with our body, speech, and mind , so creating samsara and our suffering in it . Pride , jealousy, desire, ignorance, greed, and anger are transformed, through the mantra, into their true nature, the wisdoms of the six buddha families that become manifest in the enlightened mind.
So when we recite OM MANI PADME HUM, the six negative emotions, which are the six realms of samsara, are purified.
Avalokiteshvara is like the moon
Whose cool light puts out the burning fires of samsara
In its rays the night – flowering lotus of compassion
Opens wide its petals .
Green Tara
OM TARE TUTTARE, TURE SOHA.
OM represents Tara’s holy body, speech, and mind.
TARE means liberating from true suffering, the sufferings of samsara, our aggregates being under the control of delusion and karma.
TUTTARE means liberating from the 8 fears, the external dangers, but mainly from the internal dangers, the delusions, and also karma.
TURE means liberating from the ignorance of the absolute nature of the I; it shows the true cessation of suffering.
SOHA means “may the meaning of the mantra take root in my mind.
Also, in the context of the graduated path to enlightenment (lam-rim):
TARE refers to the graduated path of the lower capable being
TUTTARE refers to the path of the middle capable being
TURE refers to the path of the higher capable being
NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO
Nam – Devotion to/I take refuge within and derives from the Sanskrit word ”namu,” which literally translates as “to devote oneself.”
Myoho – the mystic law of cause and effect. Myo also refers to the very true essence of life, which is “invisible” and beyond intellectual comprehending.
Renge – this word is symbolizing the lotus flower, which simultaneously blooms and seeds. Also, the lotus flower is fragrant and pure, unsullied by the muddy water in which it grows.
Kyo – as expressed through the power of sound and vibration. This word also means ”sutra,” the voice or teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha.
The Buddhist mantra is from the Buddhist tradition that is called Nichiren. This rendition is known as “daimoku.”
Daimoku is the constant repetition of a Nichiren Buddhism mantra for a period of time. The practice of chanting the daimoku is called shodai.
Daimoku can last a practitioner from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the mental and physical capacities of the person practising. The main purpose of chanting daimoku is to attain an ever perfecting and complete awakening.
This is how reciting the six syllables prevents rebirth in each of the six realms, and also dispels the suffering inherent in each of the six realms, and also dispels the suffering inherent in each realm. At the same time reciting OM MANI PADME HUM completely purifies the aggregates of ego, the skandhas, and perfects the six kinds of transcendental action of the heart of the enlightened mind the paramitas of: generosity, harmonious conduct, endurance, enthusiasm, concentration, and insight. It is also said that Om Mani Padme Hum grants good protection from all kinds of negative influences, and various different forms of illness.
Samsara:
Often HRIH, the “Seed-Syllable” of Avalokiteshvara, is added to the mantra to make “ Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih “ . The essence of the compassion of all the Buddhas, HRIH, is the catalyst that activates the compassion of the Buddhas to transform our negative emotions into their wisdom nature.
The Mantra that is dedicated to the Tara's is a good one, for a simple recitation.
